See the photograph for Vegemite that was produced for Australia Day – can you imagine this?  They renamed it “Australia” with a map of Australia to fool unsuspecting people into believing that it’s actually an Australian product. 

Of course, it’s fully American-owned by the Kraft company – the same company that pays their CEO more than $25 million a year.  Imagine the amount of profits that have to be taken out of Australia to fund a salary like that! 

It’s interesting how we’ve been attacked by the Murdoch press and linked to “Hansonism” and the Cronulla riots for mentioning that we support Australia, whereas Kraft can get away with this without a murmur from the Murdoch press or anyone else.  Obviously they believe it’s acceptable when it’s a fellow American-owned multinational! 

They even have the staggering affront to state on the jar, “proudly made from Vegemite since 1923”.  Well yes, it certainly was “proud” in 1923 when an Australian, Fred Walker, invented Vegemite.  But once it was sold to the Americans with their ruthless extreme capitalism, we believe things have changed. What do you think?
